Meet John Lariccia! John is the CEO and Co-Founder of WelcomeHome Software, which provides senior living operators and home care agencies innovative sales and marketing software. Prior to starting WelcomeHome, John was a senior partner with Bain & Company, the global management consulting firm. Earlier in his career, John served in the Department of the Air Force’s Office of the General Counsel. John attended the University of Virginia School of Law and the University of Notre Dame. John resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife and five children.   Meet John: Describe yourself in 3 words: Youngstown, Father, ENTJ


Favorite books, movies, or TV shows? Seinfeld, Shoresy, The Social Network, When Harry Met Sally, All the Light We Cannot See Interests outside of work? Travel, exercise, walking the dogs, obsessing over Notre Dame football, cooking Top bucket list item? That I've accomplished? Starting a company I'm excited to work at and proud to say I'm a part of. That I want to accomplish? Serve on the Supreme Court or attend a National Football Championship where Notre Dame actually wins.

Q&A with John:

Can you explain what sparked the idea for WelcomeHome?

Almost 20 years ago, I was fortunate to work with my first client in the senior space. I was inspired by the people and their mission but shocked by the lack of world-class technology available. The sales and marketing job in senior living and home care is so hard and I knew technology could be an enormous force multiplier to make things easier. After 10 years of waiting for others to bring that technology to the industry, I realized it had to be done. What excites you most about expanding into Home Care?


Everything starts with the people. We expanded into home care because great clients moved to the industry and asked for our help. They saw the potential for WelcomeHome in this space and were vocal and passionate about it. Partnering with them and every home care agency since then has been incredibly energizing. They are all amazing people, focused on serving seniors, from a place of love and care.


The parallels to senior living are evident, 90% of improvements we make to the CRM for home care also helps our senior living clients. It's a unique situation where the feature enhancements benefit all and there isn't a trade-off.


How would you describe the culture at WelcomeHome?


We collectively want to make an impact, we support one another, and when we make a mistake, we learn from it and we move on.


How did you come up with WelcomeHome's values, Listen, Care, Commit?


As the team grew, we kept being asked about our culture and were wrestling with the words that could capture it. So, it was on my mind. During a random Sunday morning run, when I seemed to have the least amount of oxygen in my brain and the clearest of thought, it came to me. It's much longer than those three words, but listen, care, commit is what most people remember and captures the essence of it.
